The preschool in the remote Chikukwa offers children from precarious backgrounds child-friendly care and support. The school is collectively supported by the community and ensures the healthy physical, emotional, and mental development of the next generation.
The preschool was established as a community initiative by the people of Chikukwa. It provides early childhood development support for three to six-year-old children in this remote region and prepares them for primary school. The students are introduced to the English language and learn basic reading and writing skills. They receive a school uniform and learning materials, and ROKPA covers the school fees for particularly needy families and orphans. At the school, the children are provided with at least two meals to prevent deficiencies that could impair their physical, emotional, and academic abilities.
This year, Oh Sheet! collaborated with ROKPA International to build 10 toilets for the children attending the preschool. Toilets, as we know them, are a luxury in many parts of the world, including Chikukwa, Zimbabwe. By building toilets, we provide the children with access to proper sanitation facilities, which prevents diseases and promotes privacy and dignity.
We are very happy and proud to mark this as our first milestone in our mission and are very grateful for every customer and every support!
