1. deforestation
Thousands of trees are felled every day to make conventional paper products.
2. global warming
Trees play an important role in mitigating climate change.
3. scarcity of resources
Wood is a renewable resource, but not an unlimited resource.
4. disposable paper
For products such as toilet paper and paper towels, the trees are poorly utilized.
5. disposable plastic
Most paper products are packaged in plastic packaging that ends up in landfills or in the oceans.
OUR SOLUTION
It should be clear by now that we cannot continue on the current path. There has to be a better way. Fortunately, there are alternatives - and they don't require significant changes to our everyday lives. We can all continue to enjoy the comfort and convenience of toilet paper and paper towels; we just need to be a little more creative in how we make them.

BAMBOO IS BETTER!
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, growing 4 cm per hour. This means that instead of cutting down 100 year old trees to make paper, we can use bamboo that grows back in 2 to 4 years. It also grows back from the same root after harvesting, so there is less damage and erosion to the ecosystem, making sustainable forestry possible. While bamboo differs from trees in many aspects, it also has some of the best properties, such as sequestering large amounts of carbon and producing soft, strong paper products.
PLASTIC-FREE PACKAGING
When you imagine the paper aisle in the supermarket, what do you notice? We see a lot of plastic! According to the FOEN, 14,000 tons of plastic end up in soil and water every year. That's why we have removed plastic packaging from our products. Our toilet paper is packaged in environmentally friendly materials that are biodegradable and 100% recyclable.
